Classic hot-rock heat: an electric stove with built-in controls heats the room to 170–185°F (up to 190°F), and you pour water on the stones for steam. Indoor rooms, backyard cabins and cedar barrels for 2 to 6 people, plus hybrids that add infrared panels to the stove.

Questions about traditional saunas
What comes with the stove? Most models ship with a 6 kW or 8 kW electric stove with built-in controls, plus a bucket, scoop and sand timer.
What power do they need? A 240V circuit for the stove, usually 30A for 6 kW and 40A for 8 kW, and many models add a 120V/15A line for lights and music. Each product's specs list the exact requirement.
Indoor or outdoor? Indoor rooms go inside the house; Hanko is also rated for covered outdoor use. Outdoor cabins and barrels have weather-ready exteriors.
