The Savonlinna
The Savonlinna is a three-person backyard sauna with a peaked barn roof — and inside, the ceiling rises to 84 inches at the peak, so the room feels open and airy even with the door closed. It's a lovely size for a couple or a small family.
The heat is classic Finnish. An 8 kW Harvia stove on the wall warms the stones and brings the room to 170–185°F. Pour a little water over the hot stones and a soft wave of steam drifts up into the peak and back down — löyly. The sandglass, bucket and scoop come with it.
Look up and the ceiling becomes a field of colored stars. Behind the bronze privacy glass door, with your music playing over Bluetooth through the built-in speakers and natural Canadian red cedar all around, the evening turns slow and warm, and the day slips off your shoulders.
The all-weather exterior is built for the yard; keep its finish up over the years, and wipe the inside with plain water and a soft cloth. Set it on a level concrete pad or wood deck. A licensed electrician adds a 240V circuit for the stove; the lights and sound use a regular 120V outlet.

- Made for outdoors, with its own roof.
- The whole floor must sit completely level and well supported — a concrete pad or a wood deck. On bare ground, use concrete blocks or a similar base so the sauna doesn't settle.
- Keep the ventilation vent clear.

- The stove needs its own 240V / 40A circuit and must be installed by a certified electrician.
- Lights and sound plug into a regular 120V / 15A outlet.

- 170–185°F is the ideal range; the stove can reach up to 190°F.
- Pour small amounts of water over the hot stones for steam. Sandglass, bucket and scoop are included.
- After a session, cool down for about 20 minutes before showering.

- At least two adults are needed to set the floor and walls.
- Keep the exterior finish maintained over the years. Never stain the interior — it stays natural wood.
- Clean the inside with plain water and a soft cloth — no chemical cleaners. Care for the stove and stones per Harvia's instructions.

- Golden Designs warranty: 5 years on the wood structure (when properly maintained), control panel, wiring harnesses and lights. The stove is covered by its manufacturer's warranty.
