The Kuusamo
The Kuusamo is a six-person sauna for the whole household — 77 by 67 inches, with room on the benches for family or friends. Indoors or under a covered patio, it becomes the warm heart of the house on cold evenings, the place everyone drifts toward after dinner.
An 8 kW Harvia stove on the wall warms the stones and holds the room at 170–185°F. Pass the ladle, pour water over the hot stones and let the steam roll across the benches — löyly to share. The sandglass, bucket and ladle are included, so the first round can start the day it's built.
Inside, natural red cedar surrounds you; outside, Canadian hemlock. Choose a color for the oversize chromotherapy light with its remote, or switch it to red. A soft light glows behind the backrest, and the music plays over Bluetooth through the built-in speakers. The stories get longer, the shoulders lower, and nobody hurries.
Afterwards, take your time cooling down before a shower. Looking after it is easy: plain water and a soft cloth for the wood, and Harvia's instructions for the stove and stones. The Kuusamo needs a 240V line for the stove, installed by a licensed electrician, and a regular 120V outlet for lights and sound.
