The Hanko
The Hanko is a sauna for two — three if you're close — in a footprint of 64 by 48 inches. It slips into a spare room, a basement corner or a covered patio, and turns an ordinary weeknight into a small ritual for a couple, or a peaceful hour alone.
The heat is the real thing. A 6 kW Harvia stove, mounted on the wall, warms a bed of stones and brings the room to 170–185°F. Ladle a little water over the hot stones and a soft wave of steam rolls through the room — the moment the Finns call löyly. A sandglass, a bucket and a ladle come with the sauna, so your first round needs nothing more than towels.
The inside is natural red cedar, with Canadian hemlock outside. An oversize chromotherapy light, with its own remote, lets you pick a color or switch to red; a light glows behind the backrest; your music plays over Bluetooth through the built-in speakers. Settle onto the bench and let the warmth slow the day down.
Afterwards, take your time cooling down before a shower. Care is simple: plain water and a soft cloth for the wood, and Harvia's instructions for the stove and stones. The Hanko needs a 240V line for the stove, installed by a licensed electrician, and a regular 120V outlet for lights and sound.

- Golden Designs warranty: 7 years on the wood structure, control panel, wiring harnesses and lights. The Harvia stove is covered by Harvia's own warranty.
