The Forssa
The Forssa is a classic Finnish sauna in a compact footprint — 75 by 48 inches — sized for three or four: a couple who want their own evening ritual, or a small family. It fits in a spare room or under a covered patio, wherever there is a dry, level floor.
The heat is the real thing. An 8 kW Harvia stove, mounted on the wall, warms a bed of stones and brings the room to 170–185°F. Ladle a little water over the hot stones and a wave of soft steam rolls through the room — the moment the Finns call löyly. A sandglass, a wooden bucket and a ladle come with the sauna, so you have everything for your first round.
The inside is lined in natural red cedar, with Canadian hemlock outside. A light glows behind the backrest, and the chromotherapy lamp, with its own remote, lets you choose a color or switch to red. Put on your music over Bluetooth through the built-in speakers, settle onto the bench and let the warmth do its work — it eases tired muscles and slows the day down.
Afterwards, sit for a few minutes with the door slightly open while your body cools, then take a shower. Care is simple: plain water and a soft cloth for the wood, and Harvia's instructions for the stove and stones. The Forssa needs a 240V line for the stove, which a licensed electrician installs, and a regular 120V outlet for the lights and sound.

- Golden Designs warranty: 7 years on the wood structure, control panel, wiring harnesses and lights. The Harvia stove is covered by Harvia's own warranty.
